Losing Isaiah is a film about a crack addicted mother who leaves her son in a box by a rubbish bin to go get high. When she wakes up the next morning she remembers what she's done and rushes back to where she left him to find out he's gone. After losing her son she goes to rehab and 3 years later finds out that her son is not dead, he is living with another family and was rescued by the rubbish man and taken to hospital.
This film raises issues relevant to our future because drugs are becoming a huge part of everyday life for people who have been or are being brought up around the influence of drugs. In the film we saw drugs when Khalia Richards (Halle Berry) went into a crack house after dropping her baby off in a garbage box. This shows what can happen if you are heavily addicted to a drugs and it affects it can have on not only you, but also your children.
I felt sorry for Isaiah because of what his mother had done. After he was rescued by the garbage man he was rushed to hospital and adopted into a white family. The lady that adopted him was one of the nurses taking care of him in the hospital. In this scene you see the acceptance that The nurse and her family had for Isaiah even though he was a coloured child. I think that we need more people like this in the world because acceptance is value that everyone needs.
